TDC Signing....

(1) comments

We're proud to announce that TDC-supported After Midnight Project has signed to Universal/Motown.

The band recently wrapped up a national tour with Josephine Collective and will soon be heading into the studio with John Feldmann (The Used, Atreyu, Story of the Year), to prep a full-length release for 2009.

We originally posted about the band last summer and have been following their progress closely since. Their live show is one of their most solid qualities and will continue to guarantee them a strong future.

New Alaska....

(2) comments

No, this post isn't about Sarah Palin.

TDC-supported Alaska and Me have posted a new song and video. The song is called The Rainy Day Song and you can check it out here.

This song shows a totally new side of the band and is probably one of the best they've ever written. The video fits the song perfectly, with visuals of trees and forest accompanying the acoustic flourishes.

The band will be heading into the studio soon with producer Bob Hoag (Dear and The Headlights, The Format). Watch this video.

New Signings....

(12) comments

1. Davenport Cabinet, the side project of Coheed and Cambria guitarist Travis Stever have signed to Equal Vision Records. The proggy hard rock act will release Nostalgia in Stereo on October 14th.

2. The Coathangers (who probably have one of the coolest MySpace links) have signed to Suicide Squeeze Records. The female outfit will be recording a new album set for release in spring 2009.

3. Sound & Shape have signed to Engineer Records. The label will soon be releasing their new EP, Love Electric. Think Mars Volta with a radio rock feel, especially in the vocals.

I Surrender Records will be announcing a new signing on Monday. Any guesses?

Guitar Hero to G.L.O.W....

(2) comments

According to their blog, the new single "G.L.O.W." from The Smashing Pumpkins will premiere exclusively through Guitar Hero:World Tour.

The single will be available as a three song download package. GH: World Tour will feature an in-game digital store, which they collobarated on with iTunes.

Users will be able to download songs and full albums off the store from both artists and users, as well as upload and share their own songs through a service known as GHTunes.

Do you think selling songs in a video game is a good way to premiere new music?

Unsigned Bands to Check Out....

(7) comments

There's been some discussion in the forums lately requesting more random unsigned band recommendations. So here we go:

1. Colorado's The Heyday, who play music in the vein of The Format, have extensive touring plans throughout the Fall including dates with The Summer Set.

2. Indiana's Chase Coy plays sincere acoustic/folk music. Though just in his teens he consistently has been charting on MySpace's Top 25 Unsigned Artists. Watch for a new album from Chase this November.

3. New York's Stereo Skyline have been gathering a lot of buzz with their latest "Stereo Skyline E.P." If you aren't bobbing your head to "Heartbeat" then pop music probably just isn't your thing.
Recommended for fans of Mercy Mercedes.

Fear Eli....

(12) comments

We usually don't post too much about heavier bands, but we've been hearing a lot about a band from Chicago called Eli.

Rumor has it a few different labels are interested (hint: check their Top Friends). The band receives comparisons to As I Lay Dying and A Day To Remember.

They've been gaining a lot of attention in the hardcore scene lately and have already shared the stage with Still Remains, Misery Signals, Silverstein, The Devil Wears Prada, and Haste The Day.

You can purchase their most recent album, The Second Coming from Smartpunk.com.
